Where It Began

Lina and Lawrence met in their early twenties while working in the same French food restaurant. Both had already spent years in hospitality, developing a shared appreciation for quality ingredients, thoughtful service, and the culture surrounding great food and drink.

Long shifts, late-night staff meals, and endless conversations about restaurants and food slowly shaped the philosophy that now defines Pommes & Butlers.

The Pub That Changed Everything

After spending many years gaining a variety of experiences within the industry and deepening their knowledge, in 2022 they took a decision to try running a pub. After getting into a business partnership with a brewery, they took over the management of a traditional 15th-century pub — black and white timber exterior, exposed beams, and all the charm of a classic British inn.

What started as a dream quickly became one of the most challenging chapters of their careers. Despite pouring everything into the business and lifting it from the ashes, they eventually made the difficult decision to walk away.

Instead of leaving hospitality, the experience pushed them to rethink what they truly loved about the industry.

Discovering Private Dining

After stepping away from the pub, they took time to travel, reflect, and rediscover their passion for cooking.

Private dining offered something different — creative freedom and a direct connection with guests.

The idea was simple: create exceptional food experiences in people’s homes, where food becomes the centrepiece of the evening.

The Birth of Pommes & Butlers

As the business grew, Lina and Lawrence realised their original brand no longer reflected the style of food they were creating.

At the start of 2025 they introduced Pommes and Butlers.

“Pommes” comes from an old French word for apple fruit, often used today in reference to potatoes — a humble ingredient found at the heart of many cuisines.

“Butlers” represents the family name and the personal care behind every experience.

Together the name reflects thoughtful food, warm hospitality, and experiences designed around the people at the table.

Today

With over three decades of combined hospitality experience, Lina and Lawrence now create private chef dining and bespoke catering experiences across the UK.

From intimate dinners to weddings and corporate events, every menu is crafted with the same philosophy:
